Through my experience, I have noticed a pattern in things that work for helping your wedding photographer take the best photos they can possibly get at your wedding. Here are some tips to staying organized during your wedding:
- Fill out the questionnaire provided when signing your contract. This sheet really helps the photographer follow along with the plans of your wedding.
- Type out an itinerary. As busy as you are, it is really important to type out an itinerary. Include names and phone numbers of people in your wedding party. You will repeat a lot of things that are on the questionnaire, but it is really nice to hand the itinerary out to the whole wedding party so that everyone is on the same page during the time you are getting ready for your wedding.
- Make a list of family members that you want to have the traditional photos of before or after the ceremony; Give this list to the photographer and also to an individual that can be in charge of gathering these people after the ceremony to get their photo taken. Your wedding is a hectic time, there are a lot of things that are going on in your head, and people are scattered everywhere. It is the photographers job to take photos. Having someone else in charge of gathering family members helps everything go smooth and fast so that we can get out of the where the ceremony is being held and have time for the beautiful artistic photos.
- Have a plan to where you would like to go between ceremony. I suggest having a party bus or someone in charge of keeping everyone together. This avoids any of the wedding party getting lost. Sticking together is always the best when in a tight time-line.
Our son Jaydon is turning 1 soon! I have always dreamed of doing a cake-smash for when I had a baby…and now the time has finally come! I baked the cake in the morning and by afternoon we were ready to destroy it! Jaydon is growing so fast! He is all boy…He loves any kinds of tools, wheels, and loud trucks…he even makes vroom vroom sounds when he sees and hears a motorcycle! Here he is with his cloth diaper that he wears for his official monthly pics. Anyone that knows Jaydon, knows that he loves loves loves to eat…so here he is in his glory!!!
I had a blast photographing this group yesterday! Here are a few of my favorite shots, as you can see they are quite the fun bunch. More to come…
My Cousin Phil and his wife Holly are expecting another little one! They already have the cutest little girl Francesca, full of energy and curiosity. Here are my favorite shots from the day. Holly is also a photographer and had many good ideas for different things we could do for this session. I think together we did a pretty good job :) I can’t wait to meet your little boy in September!!
Hanging around downtown, I got some fun shots of the city. Grand Rapids is so beautiful isn’t it!? #grandrapids #puremichigan #photo #hobby #profession
I had the pleasure to photograph Alicia and Jason’s wedding. This beautiful rustic wedding took place at Post Family Farms in Hudsonville, Michigan. The weather was unbelievably beautiful. The mixture of vintage styles and luscious colors brought the wedding details to perfection. And that is exactly what it was…a beautiful, perfect fairytale wedding.
Smiles and giggles and imagination is what this family of 4 is all about!!! Thank you Chelsea and Nick for letting me photograph you and your girls!!
Today Jaydon and I had a mini photo session because he is beginning to be so much fun. Here he is doing what he does best: playing in his cloth diaper on a blanket his grandma made him. We also got some smiles in and even a tongue-out pose! Poor little guy is gunna have to get use to momma always taking photos of him!
so serious yet still so adorable
there’s that tongue
Jaydon smiling more and more everyday
Sometimes life takes over. Sometimes it’s good. Sometimes it’s bad. Thankfully this year, we have had a lot of good things happen to me and my family.
Tim and I got hitched! And we had a beautiful baby boy: Jaydon Jude Maddox! We are so happy!!
