I guess where do I begin? It is hard for me to write this because I still can not believe what happened.

I know this is my “professional” website, and I should keep it strictly business. But I must talk about my personal life, because this past couple of weeks has forever changed me.

Lacee Maddox, my close friend; my boyfriend’s sister, whom was 28 years young past away on Monday July 15.

Just weeks before, I had brought my camera up to her cottage to take a few photos for fun. I happened to take this photo of her. She is so happy, doing what she loves to do, and playing around with her dog.

I had not the slightest idea that this would be the last time that I got to hang out with Lacee.

On Saturday the 13th, Lacee went to the hospital for flu like symptoms. We were with her there for 3 days waiting at the edge of our seats, hoping and praying that she would miraculously get better. She eventually just got worse. On Monday July 15th, I had the honor to be by Lacee’s family and to be by her side when she passed away.

Lacee. I looked up to you very much. I will miss you so much. I was so flattered when you asked me to take photos for your destination wedding. You showed me how to work hard & play hard, & I always tried to copy the delicious food and desserts that you cooked. I will never ever forget the great times we had together and  that perfect warm summer day at your cottage.
